Annaleise Loxton

about me!

If you are new here, then hello... Welcome to my website!

This site serves as a digital portfolio and blog documenting my work as a producer, director, writer, and production COVID safety manager-- among many other things. You can also find my resume, reel, and other goodies here about myself as well!

Based in midtown Manhattan, I am a multi-faceted director, writer, and occasional performer and dramaturg. As a neurodivergent artist, I find that unusual methods can lead to incredible results. My personal directing style is informed largely by a search for absolute truth and clarity through the art of performance. I love to create an engaging, collaborative, and fun rehearsal environment to live within. I have previously done new play development for Discovery New Works Festival, Ball State University, Digital Dramatists, Braving The Bard, and Possibilities Theater Company.

At this time, I am an Associate Producer with The Foxboro Co under the helm of Nelle Nugent and Kenneth Teaton.

Previously, I worked at The Phantom of the Opera as the Production COVID-19 Safety Manager, using my knowledge of COVID to keep both artists and audiences safe. I've previously held the same position at Keenan Scott II's Thoughts Of A Colored Man up until its closure in 2021. I've also done freelance COVID management work for TV/film, opera, dance, orchestral concerts, outdoor concerts, and theater. In the past, I've served as the current Associate Artistic Director for Braving The Bard, have written curriculum for Worldstrides Global Camps' performing arts summer camps in Hangzhou and Shangai, China, and even was the Literary and Development Coordinator for a time with Discovery New Works Festival. In my free time, I train for competitive Pokemon VGC tournaments, write, see as many shows in NYC as I can, and run around Hell's Kitchen with glee.

Selected directing credits include Ordinary Days (Ball State University), Songs For A New World (The Gathering), Bravo!, Goodmen's Angels (Discovery New Works Festival), Julius Caesar, Pericles: Prince of Tyre (Braving The Bard), Over Heat, Emily/Emily (Digital Dramatists), The Carol of Belle (Possibilities Theatre Company), The Fall of Anne Boleyn (One House Productions).

Additional amateur acting credits include Love's Labours Lost as The Princess of France, Drunk Romeo and Juliet as Nurse/Friar Lawrence (Braving The Bard), and Paparazzi as Stage Directions (Ball State University).
